I am glad the local teenagers of Magor/Undy love the ABC park (near Millfield Park). Another weekend of alcohol i noticed. I take a carrier bag with me so that i can clear the park of bottles and cans so that the park can be used appropriately. Today i only filled 1 carrier bag last week it was 2. Sometimes vodka bottles are smashed to pieces so i have to pick up the glass before i can allow a child to play!!
I admit there are no bins in the park for rubbish. I know there is no point complaining to the council-tried that to no avail. I know there is no point reporting under aged drinking to the police-tried that to no avail. So each time i want to use a childs play park i have to clear it of rubbish to make it safe for children to play in.
Just makes you wonder what people pay taxes for if no one will help or sort out the problem.
Thank you rant over.

That's disgraceful! The park shouldn't be allowed to be used in such a way and you certainly shouldn't have to clear the mess up.

Unfortunately, it usually takes a major' incident' before resources are allocated to situations like this - and that's something I'm sure we'd all like to avoid. Unless the police actually have any powers to do anything about under age drinking, I can understand any reluctance to assign the man power.

Unless enough people come forward and make heard their concerns, issues like this remain unresolved. Well this is what this site is all about - a place for local residents to come together and raise their concerns.

Please reply to this post and express your opinion on this matter - if enough people do so then it's a step forward in having the park's plight highlighted to the appropriate people.
